Illustration and packaging design for The Criterion Collection.
Tokyo Drifter and Branded to Kill are very stylized films made in the late 1960's by Japan's master gangster movie director, Suzuki Seijun. To suggest the era and wildness of these films, a pop art/comic book approach was used. Drawings were based on images from the film and used a bold, off-register coloring technique.
