A Flake Like Mike & The Snowflake Spectacular

Back in May we announced that Chris was illustrating a limited edition children's book for Saks Fifth Avenue. The book, "A Flake Like Mike" has been released and is the inspiration for the world famous Saks holiday window displays. We attended the "Snowflake Spectacular" which consisted of the unveiling of the windows, the snowflake light show, and a special street level Nutcracker Ballet performance. For about a half hour 5th Avenue was closed off and the crowd was showered with a snowstorm reminiscent of soap suds, while ballerinas darted about on the pavement and the giant snowflakes lit up Sak's building. It was electrifying. It's a dream seeing the book transformed into three dimensions. If you happen to be walking down 5th Ave. this holiday season, check it out. The windows are filled with tons of gags, little details and bizarre characters roaming about.

Stussy Customade Halloween Monster Collection

A new series of shirts designed and illustrated by Intergalactico for Stussy has just been released. This series was inspired by 50's B Movie classics like The Blob and Creature from The Black Lagoon, 60's comic mags like Creepy and Eerie, and the 80's Scientist dub classic Rids The World of the Evil Curse of the Vampires.

Stussy - New Illustrations for T-Shirts

Just completed series of shirt designs inspired by the illustrations and typography of New York Gang Jackets from the 1970's. Capuozzo illustrated and hand cut all the elements of these designs with a switchblade and a furled brow.

The Pitchfork 500

Intergalactico-designed Pitchfork.tv has launched

Pitchfork.TV is the first-ever music video channel dedicated to documenting independent music as it happens. As a visual extension of the music coverage Pitchfork has provided for more than a decade, and a means of updating and advancing the music television format, the online channel will bring you closer to the artists you love, through original mini-documentaries, secret rooftop and basement sessions, full concerts, exclusive interviews, and the most carefully curated selection of music videos online. inaugurating the site is an exclusive live performance by Radiohead performing "Bangers and Mash". 'Nuff said.

We designed the user interface to be really simple and straightforward--allowing the content to stand out. For the background illustration, we tried many approaches from an illustration of a surreal landscape to abstract textures. We ended up with a low tech video pattern that is a nod to "My Life In The Bush Of Ghosts". We had a lot of fun with this project. It's exciting to be part of a new way people are going to be experiencing music.

Saks 5th Avenue/A Flake Like Mike

Intergalactico is working on a giant project for Saks 5th Ave and HarperCollins. Each year, Saks goes all out for their holiday windows on Fifth Avenue. This year, they've asked Chris to illustrate a children's book in his unique collage style which will serve as the basis for those fantastical displays put together by the window design crew at Saks. We can't show you any previews yet, but we will let you know more as we get closer to the unveiling of the windows in November.

The creation of Intergalactico puts form to our ideas and ambitions for the future. The vision is set so soon you'll be seeing new work coming out of the Intergalactico studio...The website is just the beginning ...soon to be released: CrazyGon™ #2, a new limited edition Intergalactic transmission filled to the brim with the stuff that stars are made of... Guaranteed to make any cosmic dancer smile.

We are excited to begin this new road and feel that the world is ready for some more creativitiy in the form of Intergalactico.
