Sunshine has been making his own brand of comics for almost 3 decades. Mark was one of my classmates at SVA in the mid 80's. We collaborated on a few comics 'zines (including Funny Garbage). His comics approach was a big inspiration for me. I love the almost endless amount of detailing stuffed into each page. In 1986 Sunshine produced "Swing Magazine" (pictured below), a jaw dropping solo effort featuring deft inking techniques, playful use of geometry in his page composition and surreal narratives set in Sunshines own Coconino County.
Mark has been evolving and refining his work over the years and the results have been stunning. Here's some examples of his recent comics work:
